Acceptable Use of the Internet

The CLC has the right to examine or delete any files that may be held on any part of its computer network and to monitor any internet sites that are visited. Users must agree to abide by the following acceptable use of the internet.

• Access to the internet must only be made through the user ID and password provided. Under no circumstances should these be used by anyone other than the person to whom they have been given by the CLC.
• Any activity that threatens the integrity or stability of the computers, other equipment and the network, or that attacks or corrupts other systems is strictly forbidden.
• Users are responsible for all email sent and for contacts made that may result in email being received.
• Use of the systems and/or the internet for personal financial gain, gambling, political purposes or advertising is forbidden.
• Copyright of materials must be respected.
• Posting anonymous messages and forwarding chain letters is forbidden.
• As email is simply another form of communication, the same professional and social standards of language and content should be used as for letters and other media.

Use of the network to access inappropriate materials such as pornographic, racist or other offensive material is forbidden.
